What types of models does the Kim Dawson Agency represent?
We represent women, men, and children for fashion print, commercial print, and runway.
What are the physical requirements to be a model with the Kim Dawson Agency?
For the women's division you must be a minimum height of 5' 8" and no taller than 6' 0". We will see girls at 5'7" between the ages of 13-16. In addition you must be a size 4-6. Beginning models are usually between the ages of 16 - 20.
For the men's division your height must be between 6' 0" and 6' 3" and suit size 40 - 42.
In the children's division we take infants up to size 12 girls and size 14 boys.
Does the Kim Dawson Agency have specialty divisions?
Yes, we have a very strong division representing make up artists and stylists. We also represent plus size women who are 5' 8" - 5' 11", sizes 14 - 16 and big and tall men who are 6' 4" - 6' 6", sizes 44L - 46L.
We do not have a petite division.
We do not represent parts models.
How can I be seen by the agency?
If you meet the above requirements, you may be seen at open call -- by appointment only -- Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00. To set up an appointment please send an email to info@kimdawsonagency.com. You must include your height, age, gender and contact number. Please do not email pictures, all emails with images attached will automatically be deleted. We will email you the first available date and time.
There is no open call for children. If you are interested in having your children seen by the agency, mail non-returnable color snapshots of each child along with the child's sizes, age, and contact information. If your child has the right look and is the right size you will be contacted. If you have not heard from us in 5-6 months, send new updated color snapshots.
Do I have to have professional photographs to attend open call?
You may bring pictures if you have them but do not have any professional pictures made just for open call. Polaroids or snapshots are actually preferable.
Do I have to have any previous modeling experience or have attended a modeling school?
Absolutely no experience or training is required. We have started many successful models from nothing more than Polaroids.
What should I wear to open call?
Dress casually and wear what you are comfortable in. Your style is an element of your personality that we are interested in seeing. Women should wear very minimal make-up.
Where are you located?
The Kim Dawson Agency is located in the Design District, which is at 1645 North Stemmons Freeway (Interstate 35). We are in suite B.
What if I am unable to attend open call?
For adults unable to attend open call and for all children, we ask that you submit your pictures by mail. We need at least three photos, one headshot that clearly shows your entire face, another headshot smiling and one full- length shot (for adults), preferably in a swimsuit so that we may see your body type. Color photographs are preferable to black and white. You should wear little to no make-up in your photos so that we can see your skin.
In addition to the photos we need your stats: date of birth, height (barefoot), clothing size, hair color and eye color. For women we also need bust, waist, and hip measurements. For men we need chest, waist, and inseam measurements. Please include your phone number as well. Do not submit portfolios.

Will my pictures be returned?
No, due to the volume of submissions we receive we are unable to return your photos. You may submit laser copies of photos or Polaroids.
Does the Kim Dawson Agency accept e-mail submissions?
No.
Will I hear from the agency?
You will hear from us only if we are interested in setting up an appointment for you to come into the agency.
Do I have to live in Dallas?
If you are an adult or teen just getting started in modeling it is advantageous if you live in the Dallas area, but not completely necessary. If you are not within driving distance of Dallas then it is helpful if you have friends or family that live in the area. We do not have a models' apartment.
The children's division represents only children who live within one hour of the Dallas area.
What if I am already a working model?
If you are an established model looking for representation in Dallas please have your "mother" agency submit you to us. If you have no mother agency please submit your composite to us.
Is there a fee to be seen by the agency or to sign with the agency?
There is no up front fee to be with the agency. The Kim Dawson Agency takes a commission for any work that we secure for you.
How do I know if the Kim Dawson Agency is legitimate?
We have been in business for over 40 years and have an excellent reputation. We will be happy to furnish you with a list of clients with whom we have an on-going working relationship. The agency does not charge any fees up front but works strictly for commissions on work that we secure for our talent. In addition we are licesend under the Texas Talent Agency Act - license #115 and we are a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business.
